That’s a Mommy job is what I heard at 2 am this morning. Bella was standing at my bedside saying “Mommy, you didn’t kiss me and tuck me in, and turn off my TV”… (Yes, I said TV, I’m NOT super mom)
For those of you who know me, you may know that my kid4 DOES NOT sleep. In fact, she honestly did not sleep much for the first 4 years of life. Mr. B. and I took turns staying up with her and during the summer and breaks; the big kids stayed up with her some too. She is HIGH MAINTENANCE! She has sensory processing disorder and not sleeping goes along with her disorder. For the past few months she has been seeing a specialist, and just like some miracles happen she has slept like a normal person for the past few months.
So last night she went to bed before 8 and then graced us with her presence by 9. Mr. B. looked at me and said “This is not a good sign”. I put her back to bed, turned on a movie. (Yes! yes! I know-the TV again) She cuddled in and I said goodnight. I really felt like that was that…. But anyone who knows kid4 would laugh because that is never that with kid4.
I was watching extreme make over, home edition and so I was up late hooked on that show and in she came again so we did the whole routine over, she got into her bed, the movie again, and off I went. So at 1 am when my show was over, I figured she was asleep and then I heard a big laugh from her room, she was laughing at the movie and I figured I'd just leave the movie on, who cares as long as she sleeps right?…. At 2 am she was at my bedside saying “Mommy you didn’t kiss me and tuck me in and turn off my TV, THAT’S a Mommy job!”. So off I went to do my “Mommy job” that I had done several times that night and did not want to point out to her… I tucked in that girl, kissed her for the millionth time, turned OFF the TV and headed to bed. She slept the rest of the night and that was finally that!
The picture above is Kid4 when she really did sleep; when she was tricking us by pretending to be a sleepy baby… we were in for a shock soon- just ask Bat Girl, she was there!
