Orlando on a whim

Here we are in Orlando for a few days having a great time. We are definitely enjoying the sun and beauty of Florida.

Yesterday Kid1 mentioned that my Grandpa was going to be in Orlando having a ship reunion and that started a big snow ball plan!

We hopped in the car this morning minus kid3 (who is still in school) and 5 hours later here we are- Hard Rock café for lunch, universal studios shopping center after lunch and Disney boardwalk for dinner and evening fun.

I love an impromptu trip with the kids. We throw a bag together and hop in the car.

Kid1 was not too big on the picture taking… you know teens! Kid2 bought her own shirt from Hard Rock Café and Kid4 chose to do a picture on the boardwalk.

I hope to love the Disney boardwalk tonight…

TAH-DAH... finally done!

Remember how I was struggling with the silhouettes above the fireplace... how I wanted to add our silhouettes above the kids?

Do you love it?
I struggled because I was originally going to do two separate silhouettes of Mr.B. and I but I struggled to find two oval frames for a good price. One day not too long ago I ran across this little beauty of an oval frame and fell in love with it- it was 3 dollars… the rest is history.

Kelly's corner Linky Party (Living room)

I love my living room. I love used things, loved by someone else, adopted and loved by me too.

My rug came from my neighbor’s front porch. It’s where my Kid2 and her best next door neighbor friend spent so much time swapping secrets and laughing their guts out.

The table under the white tablecloth was found at a little antique store with BatGirl for a super cheap price- we fell in love with it. We gutted it and made it a made it into a TV cabinet for Kid4.

My couches came from a college girl who was selling them to buy new furniture and we happily helped her out of them.

The art work on the little side table that was my Great Grandmas dresser is the work of Kid2. My lamps were found on the side of the road for 6 dollars at a little yard sale and I LOVED them once we repurposed them.

I’m not 100% thrilled with the “black dresser” wall. That dresser holds our VHS tapes- yeah we’re behind the time. That wall needs a small cute chair with animal print on the seat and a too die for lamp on the dresser… still working on it. I do love though- the kids art work hanging with my favorite painting. I LOVE all kid’s art work…

I miss her

Have you ever missed someone so badly you ached to your bones, to the very depth of your soul? Missed someone so much it hurt? I was looking through pictures tonight and I saw my sweet Grammie and it made me miss her more. I didn't even think it was possible to miss her more than I already do.

plan schman...

I have a good solid plan.

I’m tired from travelling and I don’t feel well- I don’t want to cook a huge meal so

I formed a good solid plan. Moms are good at planning.

Tuesday night plan- spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and fresh salad- easy
American Idol Dessert- hot brownies with one scoop of ice cream - easy

Wednesday night plan- leftover meatballs for sub sandwiches with chips and fresh salad- easy
American Idol Dessert- leftover brownies with one scoop of left over ice cream and freshly picked strawberries on top.

Done. Great plan!

**NOT SO FAST**

My teenage son, you know him- THAT Kid1?
He ATE the entire pan of left over brownies… ALL of them. ALL…. ALLLLL!!!!

So we are having dinner and NO dessert…. (thank you Kid1)

Why do teenagers eat so much? Why do teenagers say “I didn’t know you had a plan for them” when you say “WHY OH' WHY would you think it was okay to eat a half a pan of brownies?”

WHY in the world would he think if I had no plan for them that I would want HIM to eat them?

Oh dear- I need teenage boy help, a chef, and apparently a lock on the kitchen!

And PS if I came to your house and you had an entire half of a cake leftover sitting on your counter would you be okay if I ate it because you didn’t have a plan for it?

I bet you would say don’t touch it!

So much for a very good solid plan

Kid4 conversation

me- "WOW! thats a lot of breathing you are doing while your jump roping"

Kid4- "Yeah, it's how I breathe when I excersice"

me- "really? WOW!"

Kid4- "Yes! It's how I don't get dead! I have to breath hard so I don't get dead."

me- there are really no words....

three's NOT a crowd when it comes to some things...

I have spent many years, trust me- MANY years, teaching my youngest to use only 3 squares of toilet paper- THREE SQUARES, three squares, ONLY THREE…. !

She is very diligent about this rule and I can often over hear her in the bathroom counting 1-2-3.

So today I realize (too late) that I am out of toilet paper in my bathroom so I called out to Kid4 to bring me some. I was thinking a roll would do it, she brought me….

YEP, you guessed it! Three squares, only three squares….

So I am reconsidering my rule… it wasn’t very much to be perfectly honest- don’t tell my children though- Ive been very strict about this!

We *HEART* the HART'S

We had a wonderful time in Mt Perfect of course… don’t we always?

One of the great things that we did there was going to K’s T-ball game. This little cute T-ball playin’ muffin is a hoot and a holler, trust me! We have known her since she was a toddler and she kept us laughing most days! We we’re so excited to watch her play ball, even though she had a cast on her arm- she played like a champ!

Sweet K and Christy, we hope you will come and visit, we hope to always stay friends and we hope to see more games when we visit next! Thanks for having us!
