happy birthday Dusty

Dear Dusty,

Dear little round faced boy, how can it be that you are 14? Today I thought about you all day and felt sad because you were always the "little one" we always referred to you and kid3 as "the little boys" and often we still do but today when I looked across the table at you, at your bright blue eyes and your wide smile and watched you laugh and talk I saw this great big boy and cried inside to myself because I don't want you to be 14, I want you to be 4.

When you were 4 life seemed easier, your face was a circle and matched your glasses, we travelled all over and you talked to me all night while the other kids slept, you called me AshWee and I loved it. When you were 4 you wore little button down shirts, jeans and cowboy boots, you and Kid3 played dress up for hours and hours on end and I just knew life couldn't get any better for you two. When you were 4 your hair was almost white it was so blonde and my Grammie adored you in fact everyone did. We couldn't go anywhere without someone saying how adorable you were and they were right- you were perfectly perfect.

My Dusty I love you so much, you are simply amazing. I love you more and more every year. I always knew you were brilliant, I always knew that your mind was superior and every year you show us just how remarkable you are. Keep being you, keep shining and know that forever and ever you will always be my Dusty, I will always love you. To me you'll always be one of "the little boys".

I love you brilliant boy, happy birthday.

my boys

We had a GREAT going away/birthday party for Kid3 tonight. We are preparing for him to go away for the school year. As I was sitting here editing pictures of the party this picture of my boys together made me cry.

Having a brother is a special gift and my boys have barely known life without each other. They have always shared a room, they have always shared toys which turned into video games and then clothes and friends. They have made a million memories together, some Im just positive I don't want to be know about and some I have loved watching. One thing is for certain, these brothers are going to miss each other, and I am going to miss seeing them together.

If everyone could have a kid like this... the world would be a better place!

Once upon a time Kid1 brought home this little punk kid and he walked around like owned the place. He hung out here a lot, he ate my food, he parked in my parking spot, he left his shoes sitting around on the counter and you want to know something?
********************************************
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE HIM!
********************************************

This kid, Baby Ty, is the sweetest person I have ever met. He would give you the shirt off of his back. This very sweet boy seriously has a heart of gold. Most days he helps me run kids here and there and everywhere, I don't even know what I'd do without him anymore.

He makes me smile every single day. When Im run down he always takes a minute to ask if Im okay. If I'm tired he picks up Kid4, if I'm out of milk, he gets milk. He's amazing. It's not just the things he does that makes him so special, it's who he IS.

Baby T,
If there were a million jillion kids all standing around for me to choose from, I'd choose you. You seriously amaze me every single day. I could spend every minute talking and laughing with you. I just simply never tire of you. Your heart is gold. I have honestly never met a more kind person. The compassion you have towards others takes my breath away. Don't change a single thing Baby T, not one little thing (well maybe the burping... but I can even live with that). Your going places, your life will be so good, my life is so good because your in it. Thank you Baby T, thank you for all you do and for who you are. I will love you always and forever.

riding in cars with boys and watching boys riding in cars...

This weekend dear Mr. B. took the boys on a mini road trip up north to see race cars, watch races and apparently get a REALLY good deal on a car for Kid1. It was an eventful weekend packed with all things testosterone for those testosterone filled boys!
I knew they had a fabulous time because once they got home all they talked about was cars, cars, cars... they said things like "fast, cool track, amazing, mom you wouldn't believe..." and something that sounded like "WANT ONE"...

Mr. B. took pictures and since I wasn’t there I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

a space for those stinky boys

We've been working on the boys room here and there. Kid1 has a collection of movie posters that he wanted on is walls. We framed and hung them. Im not in love with their furniture but it works for them. Bat Girl just gave the boys her old furniture for their room and they love it! They love to lounge around and hang out in their room... It's nice they have a space to enjoy.
So what do you think about the "Boys Lair" so far?
