A, B, C, D... la la laaaaa.... and a third

I doubt this will make any sense at all but here I go.

I’m trying to explain marriage and one of my many views on it. I’m writing it down so it’s blogged and so that maybe written down I can understand it myself.

I think of marriage as broken up into the letters of the alphabet and to graduate to the next letter say from A to B there are three years per letter. So letter A would be as follows-

A- 1/3 first year, 2/3 second year, 3/3 third year

Does that make sense? That gives you 78 years of marriage and that’s rare so I think that’s enough years. I could actually potentially be married for 78 years but I’m a rare freak of nature.

Okay, so I have been married for 17 years and 11 months (I know it’s crazy but true). I am letter F and 2/3rds. (BAT GIRL- I know your laughing right now and I’m going to ignore it and we can laugh about it Monday!)

Okay so I say all that because today my head feels crazy. I’m tired and have a headache for no good reason I am REALLY grouchy. I have been rude and really kind of mean to my nice husband all day and when I was ranting and raving about the air conditioner and other stupid things that are not worth making a big deal over I said to him thank God we are this far into our marriage or you might run screaming from me right now!

Here’s my logic when I think about others getting divorced it makes me sad because of the letters. Follow me here- because I am at F 2/3 in my marriage I yelled about the air conditioner and made a big deal about other such nameless unimportant things he could just hug me and let it go. If I continually start over in marriage and repeat A, B, C a third here and there…. But I never graduate past a certain letter I would never grow and see what the next letter brings…. Do you follow? I never knew what the years of the letter F would bring until I am here and I like the “F” years ….

Thanks Mr. B for loving me when I’m truly out of my mind, off my rocker, three wrenches short of a set, one prong short of a plug end… you get the picture. I love you!

*note to self- stay quieter about lots of things!
-the above picture if Mr. B. and I in our A year- I'm not sure I want to divulge the 3rd-LOL

weenie dog drama

Several years ago Bat Girl and I took kid2 and her best buddy shopping and on the way home we discovered that we had had too much sweet tea and HAD to stop and go to the bathroom. We stopped at a backwoods gas station and encountered this flyer for a lost dog.

Now- I won't lie we laughed ourselves sick. NO! We are not mean, it's really sad yes we also felt sadness. But you have to see the humor in the very descript poster! Let the sadness go and see the true humor on this poster.

okay now you can cry for the very obviously sweet and heartbroken owner of "Winnie dog".

a "girl sandwich"

"Please can I have a girl sandwich wif a pack a pickles?"

*translation- grilled cheese with pickles on the side

This is what kid4 ordered today at lunch between kid1 and 2 passing out (see post below)

a passing out kind of day

Believe it or not two of my children passed out today! I have never and I mean never ever had a child of mine or even seen a child pass out.

Kid1 passing out story-
Kid1 has been not feeling well lately… I think it may be teenage tired disease (you know when teenagers work themselves to death and worry about every little thing?) but I’m not sure so I made him a Dr. appt for this morning at 9:25. I wanted the Dr to just simply take blood to see where his sugars are, vitamin levels, etc. The appt goes fine. Then nurse came in with a needle and everything was fine, she got two vials of blood and I won’t lie to you, kid1 was looking VERY pale. I was starting to worry and wonder about him. He was sitting in a chair and then all of a sudden he just kind of faded away. I jumped up and asked the nurse if I could help her- inside I was screaming and terrified and wanted to shout “CODE BLUE – CODE BLUE”…. But I had to remind myself that I was NOT on an episode of E.R. Anyway we moved him to the table and got him lying down, he would open his eyes and then pass out again over and over.

Anyway- I’m trying to make this story short. He passed out, scared me to death, we got him home and then he wanted to go out to eat. I was feeling very unsure about taking him anywhere but he was feeling hungry and I thought what the heck right?

Kid2 passing out story-
Kid1, 3 and 4 and I went to Cracker Barrel to eat lunch. Kid2 was at drama practice. We sat down to eat and my cell phone rang and believe it or not- kid2 passed out at drama on the stage. I truly think that kid2 was tired and hot from the lights but still! Don’t worry I also took her to the Dr to check her for anemia etc…

I am making them curl up in their beds and watch movies the rest of the day… no walking near sharp objects!

**note from Bat Girl- wrap the kids in bubble wrap!

Sisters

Is there anything better than sisters? I can literally remember the day that I fell in love with my baby sister. I won’t fill you in on the details because they are far too private. I took one look at that little red haired girl and fell in love for the rest of my life. I adored her every move.

I love to see my girls love each other now. I love to see them curled up in bed together watching a movie, taking a walk, playing at the park. I love to see sisters in love.

Dear sweet baby sister, I have loved you always and always will. I know I could never be the big sister you deserve but my heart wants to be perfect for you. I thought you were beautiful the day we met and I loved watching your every move, smile, and even throw up-(you know what I’m talking about). I hope the very best for you always. I also hope that even though I am so bad at expressing how I feel in words that you will know how I adore you in your heart. I do love you, I do!

wonderful terrible teens!

Are teenagers’ terrors or are they just struggling through life as much as adults or more?

I’m not sure there is a real clear answer to that question. I’m not sure there’s an answer because I guess it depends on the struggles. Teenagers and kids in general can have such hard times and parents can be so selfish with their own decisions that some don’t consider the kids hearts and feelings. I feel so bad for teens and kids and toddlers…. anyone at their parents’ mercy. That’s a blog for a different time….

My poor teenage boy, he struggles because he is so sweet hearted.

Dear kid1 you are so special to me. There are simply no words to describe how in love with you I have always been. If I could take all these teenage problems away from you I would NOT because these terrible teenage times and hurts and heartaches are going to make you the well rounded adult that you are becoming. I can only tell you now that these things that weigh on your heart will seem small when your grown but right now they feel so big and important and I know the hurt Is very real and so hard. I will never tell you that it’s all nothing, because feelings are never nothing. Please know that someday when we are sitting together somewhere and laughing and talking about the past that these things still may seem important but I promise you they will not seem as important as they do right now. I love you kid1- to the moon and back a million times and more.

I would not go back to being a teenager for anything in the world- being a teenager is so hard, so stressful and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone except maybe Kim Jong-il (president of North Korea)

**note to self- wrap my little tiny kid1 in a blanket and rock him for hours and hours and hours….

“That’s a Mommy job”

That’s a Mommy job is what I heard at 2 am this morning. Bella was standing at my bedside saying “Mommy, you didn’t kiss me and tuck me in, and turn off my TV”… (Yes, I said TV, I’m NOT super mom)

For those of you who know me, you may know that my kid4 DOES NOT sleep. In fact, she honestly did not sleep much for the first 4 years of life. Mr. B. and I took turns staying up with her and during the summer and breaks; the big kids stayed up with her some too. She is HIGH MAINTENANCE! She has sensory processing disorder and not sleeping goes along with her disorder. For the past few months she has been seeing a specialist, and just like some miracles happen she has slept like a normal person for the past few months.

So last night she went to bed before 8 and then graced us with her presence by 9. Mr. B. looked at me and said “This is not a good sign”. I put her back to bed, turned on a movie. (Yes! yes! I know-the TV again) She cuddled in and I said goodnight. I really felt like that was that…. But anyone who knows kid4 would laugh because that is never that with kid4.

I was watching extreme make over, home edition and so I was up late hooked on that show and in she came again so we did the whole routine over, she got into her bed, the movie again, and off I went. So at 1 am when my show was over, I figured she was asleep and then I heard a big laugh from her room, she was laughing at the movie and I figured I'd just leave the movie on, who cares as long as she sleeps right?…. At 2 am she was at my bedside saying “Mommy you didn’t kiss me and tuck me in and turn off my TV, THAT’S a Mommy job!”. So off I went to do my “Mommy job” that I had done several times that night and did not want to point out to her… I tucked in that girl, kissed her for the millionth time, turned OFF the TV and headed to bed. She slept the rest of the night and that was finally that!

The picture above is Kid4 when she really did sleep; when she was tricking us by pretending to be a sleepy baby… we were in for a shock soon- just ask Bat Girl, she was there!

*Mama's a mermaid*

Once upon a time there was a beautiful long haired mermaid who was always wandering around aimlessly looking for the love of her life…. she looked here and she looked there…. And she looked everywhere… but there was never a prince to “rescue” her.

One day she met an old scary witch and that old scary witch captured this poor beautiful mermaid and locked her in a cave. The mermaid lived for many long years in this dark cave and dreamed of the prince that would save her one day.

The cave that held her captive was on the side of a very high mountain over the ocean and sometimes she would hear the loud horn of a far away ship and she dreamed that her savior would be a pirate. She would hear the ship and close her eyes and dream of how he would climb the tall tall cliff and call out her name and she would answer saying “I am here my love”.

One day after the horn blew and she was lying there dreaming she heard the noise of a falling rock, and then another…. And another… and then she heard a voice call her name. How could he know? Could her dream come true? He called her name, she answered, he saved her and they lived happily ever after with lots of children!

And that’s the story of how my husband and I met through my four year olds eyes…. Only if it were true! Yeah, happily ever after…. That’s it…..
