pray! pray! pray!

EDIT- Stellan has had a very rough evening and may go into surgery as soon as tonight(Mon).

Dear Friends,

I am blogging tonight to ask you for something that you probably are already doing, telling you about something that you are probably already aware of. I know that so many of you have prayed your throat dry, knelt your knees skinless and begged God to heal Stellan. I’m asking you again please kneel down today and ask God to see him through his ablation tomorrow morning. I think it’s important to ask God for specific things so tonight and tomorrow I am asking God to give MckMama peace and comfort in such a heart wrenching situation. I don’t even know what else to ask for, I’m not even sure how to be specific about a baby having heart surgery. I’m so sad and worried about little Stellan. I know those of you that know about him are rooting for him and praying for him. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.

I remember feeling a similar feeling when Harper was born being worried, dying inside for Kelly and her family. Not sure what to pray for but begging God to heal her and to protect the hearts of Kelly and her husband.

There are sad things happening with babies more and more, through this blogging world we are more united and can see what’s happening around us. It’s not just Mommies losing their babies, its Daddies losing their wives and humans struggling to band together for the good of each other. I think we ARE responsible to pray about one another. There are quite a few babies and families that need our prayers. My nightly ritual is to look at Kelly’s blog and pray for the family’s on her prayer list along with my own list- it can take awhile.

Please take a minute and pray for baby Stellan and the whole Mckfamily- they need us right now. If you have anything orange please wear it Tuesday in honor of Stellan. My family will be wearing orange all day to show our support for this precious little boy.

I also have a friend (N) who had a teeny tiny baby girl (M) on March 31st please pray for baby M, she had brain surgery this afternoon and I haven’t heard how it went yet. Please just ask God for his healing hand to bless this teeny tiny preemie princess.

please pray

My dear real life friend Stephanie’s Dad is having a quadruple bypass today. Please take a minute to pray for him, his family and friends. He is a man who has done quite a few amazing things in his life to say the least. This man HAS had an impact on others. He has never been the kind of guy to be sedentary; he has taken an active part in life. I have some great memories hiking, camping and getting into trouble at Steph's house, her Dad was always a lot of fun!

He is a father, a son a husband, a grandfather and friend. He knows about Gods plans and his mercy. Please get down on your knees and take a minute to pray for a good mans surgery, for a quick recovery and for peace to surround his family and friends. God is good, God has a plan.

Thank you.

Pray for Stellan

Please remember to pray for the Mck-family. MckMama is struggling! Seriously struggling! You know when you feel like you are completely out of control- like life is spinning out of control around you- like as things are spiraling out of control there you stand in the middle of it all and all you want is one second to feel steady and something to grab on to? I think thats probably how MckMama feels about now.

I can remember the world swirling around me when my Mom called to say that my nephew had been hit by a truck and it didn't look like he would make it. The room started spinning, I started feeling like the walls were closing in on me and kept saying "NO! NO! NO!" My poor brother and sister in law were in my mind, I knew they must be devastated. My nephew had ooodles of extended family who adored him and I could just see them melting into puddles of misery. Spinning, misery, wondering if he would make it, feeling out of control... helpless.

I hate for anyone to feel this way - ANYONE! I have been on my knees praying for baby Stellan. I know God has a plan, I know MckMama knows God has a plan. Even though there is a plan in place by God, her heart must still ache, she must ache to her bones. I keep praying that God will wrap his peace around her and give her moments of true peace.

Please pray for them- whenever you can, wherever you are- in your car, in your bed, on your knees, at your desk, at your computer, in the elevator, JUST PRAY!

Please pray for Baby Stellan today. He is McMamma's baby miracle. He is a son, brother and a miracle. His friends, family and even strangers have prayed for the Lord to heal him before and he needs prayers again now. He is very ill at their local Childrens Hospital. Please pray for Stellans healing, and the family's peace no matter what happens.
Thanks friends!

moving mayhem

Sweet Mr B. has been working himself to death! He has been between both houses more times than I can count, moving stuff, feeding our kidlings, cleaning both places and making sure I get a nap!

We're totally IN our new house, which means we are totally OUT of our old house and that's a good thing! I'll post pictures when I can. I have been either too busy or too sick to take pictures yet and you DO NOT want to see this mess!

I can't wait to get organized and all settled into our new house and start making memories.

By the way please continue to pray for little Harper Brown Stamps. She is still in critical condition. Her sweet family is waiting for more news tomorrow.

update on Harper and moving, moving, moving

Thanks to everyones prayers Harper Stamps is doing remarkably well. If you want a wonderfully written update please visit Kelly's page.

The move is going as well as a move can go- a few things broken- mostly presswood so far and I haven't opened many boxes yet. I'm sick as a dog- SERIOUSLY sick. Ask anyone, when I have too much going on I always get really sick. Last year when we moved to Georgia I had pneumonia and the flu- thought I was gonna die!

We love the house and are trying to find all the little nooks and crannies to stuff our memories into and admire them as we live.

Please continue to pray for Harper Stamps and maybe even all our little boys and girls, everyone could use a little prayer mention now and again!

PRAY PRAY PRAY

Please pray for a blogging friend of mine tonight. She has been so excited to meet her new baby, she has decorated her room, had everything and I mean EVERYTHING monogrammed, and loved every minute of being pregnant. She had her little girl today, Harper Stamps and Harper is not doing well. She has been careflighted to Tulsa childrens hospital about 2 hours from the Stamps home. Kelly's husband will join Harper tonight and Hopefully Kelly will join her tomorrow.

I am sick tonight for Kelly and her whole family and can't imagine how crazy Kelly must be going to wait until tomorrow to be with her little baby girl.

Please pray for baby Harper and the whole Stamps family as they struggle through this hard time.

World wide candle lighting

The compassionate friends host a worldwide candle lighting the second Sunday in December every year, which happens to be tonight at 7pm. This rich tradition unites family, friends and strangers around the globe who have lost a child of any age dear to them.

This has special meaning to me because we lost my 13 year old nephew in August of 2004 to a tragic car accident. Every year on his birthday and the day we lost him, my children and I release a balloon in his honor. It seems like it's at least something that we can do to show how we do remember him and how we always will.

This evening my children and I will light a candle for my nephew Keoni and for Riley who just lost his life this past Tuesday.

sadness and heartbreak

I just found out that an old baseball buddy of my oldest son was killed last night. He was killed at a friend’s house “horse playing with guns”. He was shot by another teen who thought the gun was not loaded and pointed it at Riley’s head, it was a loaded shotgun. My gut just aches about this for so many reasons. I’m sure you already know them all.

I have told my sons for years that it’s not them I don’t trust with guns, it’s others. I have always said that someone may be playing and unintentionally kill you or someone else. Either one is unacceptable and devastating.

I do believe in the right to bear arms. I just don’t bear them. I almost bought a gun quite a few years ago when my kids were little and I was travelling a lot, but I have one very curious and hands on son. I felt like I would have to keep it locked up in the glove compartment and if I did get car jacked I would have to say to the person taking my car “could you wait one moment please while I get my weapon to defend myself against you”…. This made no sense so I decided against it.

This boy who was killed knew how to use a gun, hunted and I know fully understood gun safety. It’s so senseless. My heart aches for his family. He was being raised by his paternal grandparents who really were such good people and adored him always. His Grandpa coached his baseball team most years from the time he was very little.

I have gone about my day doing the things I normally do but my mind keeps wandering back to his family and then my gut aches and my heart drops again. I keep thinking about how his Grandparents must feel, and how his only brother must feel being left behind. It’s so sad, it’s so horrible.

It reminds me of my nephew and how he died so suddenly and so senselessly. Teenagers do things that are unsafe, un-thought out, and irrational but no one deserves to die for it. I’m sad tonight for Riley’s family and every other family whose kids have lost their lives from senseless accidents. Please pray for Riley’s family tonight, they need it.

please pray ...

Dear Friends,

Please pray for my mother in law today (Tuesday 10-28-08) as she is having surgery for lung cancer. She is so scared and rightly so. She is a sweet lady, mother to my husband and brother in law, sister, aunt, wife, daughter and friend to many. We are going to be praying and sending her well wishes as she heals.

The picture above is my mother-in-law and brother-in-law and I love this picture. It captures the sweet relationship of a mother and son.
